The artist was born in Washington D.C. but, because of his father’s work for the United Nations, briefly lived in a hotel across from the Pantheon in Rome. While in Italy, he frequently visited its museums, the Forum, Ostial Antiqua (the ancient Roman port), and Pompeii with its incredible ancient murals.

Within the faded murals, mosaics, broken statuary, mosaics, and scraps of text that are now the only remaining representations of the people of the faded Roman Empire, the artist saw, and sees, the beauty of the human face, like the sea, always different but always the same.

When he began doing his unique artwork, it was only to celebrate the beauty of men. He now realizes it has always been, and remains, his attempts to recapture the same mysteries and beauties within those shattered remnants of antiquity and the lives so long since lived.

The first openly gay artist from Crimea, Ukraine.

He has a Master’s in Fine Arts and spent ten years training as a classical painter and graphic artist before, in 2002, making his first foray into digital graphics and becoming totally committed to any and all computer art techniques.

His work is all about artistic love for the fantastic beauty of the male body and Ukrainito’s love for his life-partner, Ermanito; the latter’s endless unconditional love, hope, and trust providing non-stop inspiration.

The artist hopes to increase awareness of how millions of gays in the “new democracies” of the world continue to be discriminated against because of their sexuality, thereby deprived of rights and freedoms often taken for granted by new-generation gays under more enlightened democratic governments.
